The rumors are true: Katya is running for Mayor of Los Angeles 2026. Katya believes that every Angeleno should be no more than a 5 minute walk from a garden, grocer, and a gathering place.

1. Cleaning Up Los Angeles
Los Angeles deserves public trashcans, public compost bins, and public toilets. Wasted food and organic waste left on the sidewalk or road attracts rats and other pests. Litter and feces on the sidewalk are a policy failure, which can be solved with better infrastructure.
2. Laying the Groundwork
Los Angeles is a wet meadow that’s been covered with concrete. Concrete makes LA hotter in the summer, and more prone to flooding when it rains. More green space feeds two birds with one scone.
3. Growing Los Angeles
Healthy food is the basis of a resilient society. Los Angeles is the perfect climate for growing healthy food all year around. Every Angeles deserves to be at most a five minute walk from access fresh, healthy food, and community green spaces where they can grow their own.
